Snow Bunting, Cley, 23rd December 2020. |
Eastern Yellow Wagtail, Carlton Marshes, Suffolk, 22nd December 2020. Although distant, interestingly darker-headed and with only an indistinct supercilium cf last winter's Sedgeford bird. |
Velvet Scoter, Cley, 19th December 2020. |
Little Egret, Cley, 18th December 2020. An oddly marked bird, very like one here a few years ago and very like an apparently different bird at Sudbourne, Suffolk last week. |
Bank Voles, Cley, 18th December 2020. |
Todd's Canada Goose, Choseley, 17th December 2020. |

Wigeon, Cley, 8th December 2020. |
Chinese Water Deer, Cley, 8th December 2020. |
Otter, Cley, 7th December 2020. It seems just a single Otter has been showing most days at Cley NWT for the past month or so, but the times of day and locations are very erratic: the Main Cut viewed from East Bank is favoured, but it also gets seen on the saltings viewed from West Bank and from Daukes' Hide; late morning today it swam along the Catchwater Drain, under the bridge to Bishop's Hide and towards East Bank. |
Velvet Scoters, Kelling Hard, 4th December 2020. |
Common Scoters, Kelling Hard, 4th December 2020. Part of the raft of 37 – all females – that have been lingering for a few days. |
Cley, 3rd December 2020. Lockdown 2 is over so the shooting morons were out in force this morning, right next to Cley NWT Visitor Centre again. They have neither sense nor shame. |
Iceland Gull, Cley, 3rd December 2020. |
Caspian Gull, Cley, 3rd December 2020. Along with the Iceland Gull, this fine bird lingered with other gulls feeding on starfish close to the beach carpark this afternoon, thanks to the rain and the consequent lack of humans all over the beach. |
Fox, Cley, 3rd December 2020. What a beautiful wild animal, rarely seen at Cley! |
Lesser Yellowlegs, Wiveton, 1st December 2020. |

Hen Harrier, Cley, 30th November 2020. |
Bewick's Swans, Cley, 30th November 2020. It seems at least 42 passed west over Cley today. Just like the old days – a passage unprecedented in recent years. |
Grey Seal, Cley, 30th November 2020. There are now three seal pups between the beach carpark and East Bank, so it's surely well time to insist on all dogs on leads on Cley NWT beach. (This quick snap taken with a long lens while I stopped for less than 5 seconds.) |
Halfway House, Blakeney Point, 27th November 2020. There are good numbers of Dunlin and other common waders in Blakeney Harbour at the moment. |
Grey Phalarope, Cley, 22nd November 2020. |
Pale-bellied Brent Goose with Dark-bellied Brent Geese, Cley, 22nd November 2020. |

Long-tailed Duck, Brackish Pool, Cley, 21st November 2020. |
North Scrape, Cley, 20th November 2020. Plenty of birds this autumn/winter on the North Scrape, including it's the best place for Pintails. Can we have our North Hide back please NWT? It's been missing for far too long! |
Red-throated Diver, Cley, 19th November 2020. |
Great Skuas, Cley, 19th November 2020. |
Desert Wheatear, Gramborough Hill, Salthouse, 16th November 2020. |

Stubble Rosegill fungi, Blakeney Freshes Bank, 16th November 2020. |
Coastguards Helicopter, Cley, 15th November 2020. Looking for a lost windsurfer, but, when flying low, it surely wasn't necessary or wise to turn over North Scrape and Cricket Marsh? |
Linnets, Blakeney Bank, 15th November 2020. |
Pintails, North Scrape, Cley, 15th November 2020. Can we get the hide replaced? |
Desert Wheatear, Gramborough Hill, Salthouse, 14th November 2020. This was a lucky shot; actually, this particularly fine-looking male is very mobile and nowhere near as confiding for close photography as some Desert Wheatears – perhaps because it is an adult? |
Raven, Gramborough Hill, Salthouse, 14th November 2020. I think this is the first Raven ever to be photographed on Cley and Salthouse Marshes. It flew off west with another. |
Desert Wheatear, Gramborough Hill, Salthouse, 13th November 2020. Right on dusk! |
Dusky Warbler, Muckleburgh Hill, Weybourne, Norfolk, 13th November 2020. |
Dusky Warbler, Muckleburgh Hill, Weybourne, Norfolk, 12th November 2020. In three hours this morning, I got little more than a few glimpses, but Sue got these nice shots. |
